The games are over and the results are in. We're halfway through the season now with no unbeatens and there are playoff implications on the horizon, but I'll get to that later.
The Rams, who upset the Redskins last week, pulled off a HUGE upset this week. They beat the Cowboys (STUPID COWBOYS!!!) 34-14 and are surprisingly in second place only 2 games out of the weak NFC West. On a Madden-less (for the first time in like 476 weeks, some 28 years or something) Sunday Night Football the Bucs dispatched of the preseason NFC West favorite Seahawks, who fell to 1-5, 20-10. With the Rams game and the 38-10 thrashing the 0-7 Bengals took from the Steelers there was a bit of a shake up in the standings. I went from unbeaten to second in my division with the division being taken over by jwark by 10 points.
Other games included the Ravens getting the W over the Dolphins, 27-13 (so much for the Wildcat offense, huh), the Colts, who gave the Ravens a beatdown last week, took it themselves this week, 14-34, and the Giants moved to 5-1 with a 29-17 win over the Niners. The Jets got beat by the Raiders in OT, 16-13, the Chargers got beat by the Bills, 23-14, and the Saints did NOT help aj9696 get off the schneid as they got trounced, 30-7. The Patriots gave the Broncos the What-For on MNF, 41-7, and that helped kerri78 to move up in the standings.
With that Saints game aj9696 moves into a position to be eliminated from playoff contention next week... and become the first casualty of the 2008 football season. If aj9696 loses and andy73, Mark Wood, and Jeff Gravatt all win, aj9696 will be eliminated based on record. Good luck getting that first W next week aj.
The selection window for week 8 is now open and will remain open until Sunday October 26 at 1:00pm. If you haven't made a pick and aren't on BYE or if you want to change your pick you have until then to get it in for week 8. You can look to the frame on the right to see who has made a pick, who hasn't, and who is on BYE this week. Good luck to you all, but especially aj9696 and Joey Gravatt as you guys are still looking for your first win.

something to consider for next year: person picks 2 of their 3 teams. the last team is randomly generated by the computer. September 22, 2008 9:32 PM

What do you guys think about keeping the rules the same as far as picking your three teams and each week picking one, but instead of JUST picking a team, you get scheduled against an opponent who is also in the game. The person whose team wins by the most(or loses by the least) gets the victory? September 25, 2008 12:05 PM

I might remove the BYE week and start the playoffs a week early. This would set up a two week opening round, a one week 2nd round, and a two week championship round... 5 weeks of playoffs altogether. This might aleviate some of the tiebreaker issues I'm trying to work around with the current playoff set up. December 22, 2008 11:12 AM
