Week 4 is almost here. The two key matchups of the week... Baltimore at Pittsburgh, football the way it was meant to be played... and Washington at Philadelphia, The Return of McNabb.
In other games, the Saints welcome the Panthers in a divisional matchup. Also, a divisional game, New England travels to Miami on Monday Night Football. Denver @ Tennessee, 0-3 SF @ Atlanta, the Colts @ Jacksonville, Detriot @ Green Bay, the Jets @ the Bills, Arizona @ San Diego, Bengals @ Browns, and Giants & Bears round out the Frenzy teams' games this week. Minnesota finds themselves on BYE.

That about is sums it up. Week 3 is over and the NFL standings are upside-down. 3-0 teams include the Chiefs, the Bears, and the Steelers, who during a normal season wouldn't be a surprise. But this year they are down to their 4th quarterback. Go figure. But they DO have a hell of a defense. That's going to be a scary team when Big Ben gets back. Among the surprises at the bottom of their divisions... the "Superbowl bound" Dallas Cowboys at 1-2 and the shocking 0-3 49ers who have lost to both the Seahawks and Chiefs. Now, there are some regular bottom-dwellers who have assumed their rightful positions at the bottom of their divisions; The Bills, the Browns, the Raiders, and the Lions.
Now on to the Frenzy results for week 3. We are now starting to get some separation in the standings... not by wins & losses, but by points differential as the Ravens squeaked by the Browns 24-17. Not to discount the Browns because they are a professional football team, but, really? The Browns? Squeaking? That's scary for Ravens fans as the Ravens will have to go into Pittsburgh now for week 4. The Baby Horses beat the Daddy Horses 27-13. The Patriots D is really suspect as they just allowed the Bills to put 30 on 'em... but when you score 38 points you can do that and still win. The Vikings got off the schnied with a 24-10 win over the Lions. In the game of the week (at least according to the poll) the Falcons (and 45% of voters) ended up on the right side of the scoreboard, beating the Saints 27-24. The Eagles, who decided that Kevin Kolb is NOT the future of their franchise (at least not the immediate future), went with Michael Vick and it paid huge dividends this week. They downed the Jags 28-3. And last but not least, the Striped Cats beat the Black Cats 20-7.
Week 4 is now upon us and everyone has until Sunday, 10/3, to get your picks in for this week. If I don't get a pick you'll take a loss and no points will be recorded. Good Luck!

Week 2... In review
Week two is in the books and with it, the first week of the frenzy. There are some surprising 2-0 teams and some surprising 0-2 teams. Actually, I would say that just about all of the 2-0 teams are surprises. Who would have thought the Bears and Chiefs would bs 2-0? Or how about the Texans or the Buccaneers? I think the only ones who aren't surprises are the Packers and the Saints. I would say the Steelers, but they are down to their 4th quarterback. Who would think they'd be 2-0? That's a credit to their defense.
The Dolphins beat the Vikings, sending them to 0-2 and it looks like there won't be a Superbowl this year as Jerry Jones is getting ready to burn down the new Cowboys stadium. That's right the Bears beat the Cowboys, making them 0-2.
The Eagles almost blew a 10 point lead in the last 2 minutes to the DETROIT LIONS! But they held on for the 35-32 win on the legs of a revived Mike Vick. The Redskins, however weren't so lucky as they blew a 17 point second half lead and lost in overtime. The Ravens looked offensive. And not in a good way. Flacco threw four interceptions and the line was not holding up for him at all... Not mention a BS tripping call and don't, anyon,e even think about touching a quarterback. But, I digress... Ugly football leads to losing more often than not.
As far as the frenzy is concerned, we had a few people who didn't get their pick in and, accordingly, they are 0-1 with no scoring being recorded. The Packers and Chargers won big, the Patriots got doubled up, the Giants lost big, The Ravens were ugly, the Redskins blew a big lead, and the Saints won.... and lost. The won their game against the Niners 25-22, but lost star RB Reggie Bush for at least 6 weeks with what appears to be a broken leg. So, after week 2 there are a bunch of people tied and the standings reflect that.
The selection window for week 3 is now open and you all have until Sunday at 1:00pm to make your picks. Good luck everyone.

NFL-Week One
So week 1 of the 2010 NFL regular season is in the books and there was a lot of ugly football. Perhaps shortening the preseason to 2 games isn't a good idea as clearly many of the offenses were not up to par yet.
There are now 16 teams who are 1-0 and 16 teams who are 0-1. Amidst those games were several surprises. The two biggest surprises that I can think of are the Seahawks and the Chiefs over the Niners and the Chargers. I guess Tom Brady and Wes Welker are back to being 100% even if Randy Moss is squabbling about his money, as they gave the Bengals a beat down. The score, 38-24, is closer looking than the game really was. Somewhat surprisingly, but not a total shocker, the Texans jumped out to quick 10-0 lead over the Colts and were able to hold on to it 34-24 on the back of RB Arian Foster and his 231 yd, 3-TD performance. Pittsburgh picked up a victory at home in overtime over the Falcons and Washington outlasted the Cowboys in DC.
That's just a quick rundown of some of the NFL scores from week 1. Week 2 will be upon us before we know it and with that the start of the 2010 NFL Three Team Football Frenzy will officially begin. Get yourselves registered or your teams changed by midnight Saturday and get your week 2 pick in by the time games start Sunday. Good luck everyone.

Welcome Football!
It's finally here! The 2010 NFL Season has begun... with a bit of a thud. The two highest scoring offenses in the NFC last year put up a grand total of 23 points. The Saints beat the Vikings last night 14-9, and with that, the season has started. Favre threw for 170+ yards, a TD, and an interception. Drew Brees threw for 230+ yards and a TD.
Now I have to wait til Monday to watch my boys take on the J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets! and that mouthy Rex Ryan.

NFL 2010
Football Fans,
That's right! In just under 24 hours the 2010 NFL Season will begin. A lot of people are saying it'll be a doozy. Some are saying it will be a blow out. I don't care because either way it will mean that Football is officially back!
Week one of the NFL regular season will start tomorrow around 8:00 pm with a rematch of last years NFC championship game, which by all means should have been a Vikings victory. But I guess 5 turnovers has a way of getting in the way of winning. Yes... Brett Favre is back, no, wait, no he's not... yes he is. No he's not. Yes--- I DON'T CARE. GO AWAY ALREADY. I guess we'll see how is surgically repaired ankle will hold up. The Saints, somehow (being Superbowl Champions and all), have been flying pretty much under the radar this offseason, but with no major changes to the core of the team, look to be as strong, maybe even stronger than last year. With Harvin battling migraines, Rice out for 6 weeks on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list with a hip injury, Brett Favre yet ANOTHER year older and, let's face it, banged up already, and a fairly weak O-line, this game between the Saints and the Vikings could get real ugly real fast. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
The Frenzy doesn't start for another week, so if you want to play, you have until 9/18 to register and/or change the teams you've already chosen. Everyone has until 9/19 @ 1:00 pm to make their pick for NFL week 2 (Frenzy week 1) which is when the Frenzy begins. So use this week as the final evaluation of your teams, and choose wisely. Good luck everyone.

something to consider for next year: person picks 2 of their 3 teams. the last team is randomly generated by the computer. September 22, 2008 9:32 PM

What do you guys think about keeping the rules the same as far as picking your three teams and each week picking one, but instead of JUST picking a team, you get scheduled against an opponent who is also in the game. The person whose team wins by the most(or loses by the least) gets the victory? September 25, 2008 12:05 PM

I might remove the BYE week and start the playoffs a week early. This would set up a two week opening round, a one week 2nd round, and a two week championship round... 5 weeks of playoffs altogether. This might aleviate some of the tiebreaker issues I'm trying to work around with the current playoff set up. December 22, 2008 11:12 AM
