Week 2... In review

Week two is in the books and with it, the first week of the frenzy. There are some surprising 2-0 teams and some surprising 0-2 teams. Actually, I would say that just about all of the 2-0 teams are surprises. Who would have thought the Bears and Chiefs would bs 2-0? Or how about the Texans or the Buccaneers? I think the only ones who aren't surprises are the Packers and the Saints. I would say the Steelers, but they are down to their 4th quarterback. Who would think they'd be 2-0? That's a credit to their defense.

The Dolphins beat the Vikings, sending them to 0-2 and it looks like there won't be a Superbowl this year as Jerry Jones is getting ready to burn down the new Cowboys stadium. That's right the Bears beat the Cowboys, making them 0-2.

The Eagles almost blew a 10 point lead in the last 2 minutes to the DETROIT LIONS! But they held on for the 35-32 win on the legs of a revived Mike Vick. The Redskins, however weren't so lucky as they blew a 17 point second half lead and lost in overtime. The Ravens looked offensive. And not in a good way. Flacco threw four interceptions and the line was not holding up for him at all... Not mention a BS tripping call and don't, anyon,e even think about touching a quarterback. But, I digress... Ugly football leads to losing more often than not.

As far as the frenzy is concerned, we had a few people who didn't get their pick in and, accordingly, they are 0-1 with no scoring being recorded. The Packers and Chargers won big, the Patriots got doubled up, the Giants lost big, The Ravens were ugly, the Redskins blew a big lead, and the Saints won.... and lost. The won their game against the Niners 25-22, but lost star RB Reggie Bush for at least 6 weeks with what appears to be a broken leg. So, after week 2 there are a bunch of people tied and the standings reflect that.

The selection window for week 3 is now open and you all have until Sunday at 1:00pm to make your picks. Good luck everyone.

something to consider for next year: person picks 2 of their 3 teams. the last team is randomly generated by the computer. September 22, 2008 9:32 PM

What do you guys think about keeping the rules the same as far as picking your three teams and each week picking one, but instead of JUST picking a team, you get scheduled against an opponent who is also in the game. The person whose team wins by the most(or loses by the least) gets the victory? September 25, 2008 12:05 PM

I might remove the BYE week and start the playoffs a week early. This would set up a two week opening round, a one week 2nd round, and a two week championship round... 5 weeks of playoffs altogether. This might aleviate some of the tiebreaker issues I'm trying to work around with the current playoff set up. December 22, 2008 11:12 AM
