Now that I'm done hyping up the Ravens who finally learned how to play defense again, I'll move on to some of the other games that were picked. There were only two losers this week, JKing, who took the Cardinals who were just outplayed by a bad Carolina Panthers team, and SAW, whose homer pick, the Packers, almost worked out for her but in the end didn't.
Now for the winners, who didn't help those of us trying to climb back into our divisions... As I mentioned the Packers lost, which means the Vikings, in "Brett Favre's TRIUMPHANT RETURN TO LAMBEAU IN PURPLE" (geez, I'm so tired of hearing about this man. I repect him, but enough already), won 38-26. For once, Peyton Manning didn't throw a touchdown pass. Of course he still threw for almost 350 yards and the Colts remain one of two undefeated teams left as they had a tougher battle against the Niners then they expected, I'm sure, and won 18-14.
Wow how the mighty have fallen... the Giants before the injury to the other Manning brother looked like they might be the best team in football. Then the Saints put 48 points on them, the Cardinals beat them, and now the Eagles just put 40 points on them. In a division rivalry, the Chargers eeked out a win over the Raiders, and Tony Romo finally got a win at Seattle... luckily this time it didn't come down a last second field goal attempt as the Cowboys won 38-17.
Week 9...
There's really not a whole good to talk about in Week 9. There's about four interesting games this week. In the Game Of The Week, the the Eagles will welcome the Cowboys for the NFC East division lead and the Broncos will welcome the Pittsburgh Steelers, fresh off their BYE week, into Mile High or whatever they're calling it now. With a Broncos win and a Ravens victory in Cincy this week there will be a three-way tie for the AFC North division lead. The last of the remotely interesting games in week 9 will put the somewhat surprising Dolphins in New England to take on the Patriots.
The Giants will take on the Chargers, the Packers go to Tampa, Texans to Indy, Cardinals in Chicago, 'Skins in Atlanta, Panthers to the Big Easy, and the Niners welcome the Titans who just got their first win of the season.
You all have until Sunday at 1:00pm to make your picks. Good luck with that.
