As I said, over these couple of weeks, the playoff picture is beginning to come into focus. With the Cowboys loss I (LuMon) became the first player to be eliminated from playoff contention. At 3-5 I am 4 games behind LRobbins (7-1) in the Kent Division and 4 games behind Jay Dub (also 7-1) in the Wild Card with only 3 regular season Frenzy games to go.
With a Vikings win and an Eagles loss, Cam2109 took sole possession of the New Castle Division with jharris falling a game behind and Mark two games back. And thanks to the Titans win, bfaries holds on to hope for another week. However with a loss in week 11 or wins from Cam2109, LRobbins, Fumble, and Jay Dub in week 11 he will be eliminated.
As I mentioned in the week 10 preview I didn't think LRobbins would go undefeated this year, and with the Eagles loss she took her first L of the season, though she still retains the division lead with that huge points differential lead. In a bit of a surprise Jay Dub was able to draw even (record-wise) with LRobbins and Fumble at 7-1 as the Panthers pulled one out over the Falcons in Charlotte. With an ugly Ravens win over Cleveland Monica kept pace at 1 game out in the Kent Division.
The Vikings win coupled with a Steelers loss switched Kinger and wissinger positions in the Sussex Division with both of them 2 games behind division leader Jeff C. In an interestingly decided game J.D. Gravatt was able to keep his playoff hopes alive as the Colts came from 17 points down in the 4th quarter to beat the Patriots 35-34 and remain undefeated. It was interesting because with just over 2:00 left in the game on 4th and 2 at their own 29 yard line, Bill Belichick decided to go for it. The Patriots didn't convert and Peyton Manning got the ball back on the New England 29 and ran the clock down to :13 and scored the game winning touchdown.
In the ugly game of the week the 49ers used 5 Jay Cutler interceptions to beat the Bears 10-6. That's right, 5 picks and only 10 points... like I said, ugly game... and boring too. With that Niners' win, Gridiron Guru overtook the Delaware Division lead as the Colts come-from-behind win also helped SAW push D10206156 to third in the division. In the closest division in the league this year, JKing took the Vikings and kept pace at 5-3 and only 1 game behind Gridiron Guru.
So, with 3 weeks left in the Frenzy regular season, I am eliminated from playoff contention and two others, bfaries and J.D. Gravatt, are hanging by a thread. If the playoffs started today the matchups would look like this:
Round 1
#3 Jeff C (7-1)
vs.
#6 Jay Dub (7-1)
#4 Gridiron Guru (6-2)
vs.
#5 Fumble (7-1)
BYES:
#1 LRobbins (7-1)
#2 Cam2109 (7-1)
As you can see, things can change quite a bit in just one week. Good luck to everyone, and from the first player eliminated, nice job to everyone in your picks this season.

something to consider for next year: person picks 2 of their 3 teams. the last team is randomly generated by the computer. September 22, 2008 9:32 PM

What do you guys think about keeping the rules the same as far as picking your three teams and each week picking one, but instead of JUST picking a team, you get scheduled against an opponent who is also in the game. The person whose team wins by the most(or loses by the least) gets the victory? September 25, 2008 12:05 PM

I might remove the BYE week and start the playoffs a week early. This would set up a two week opening round, a one week 2nd round, and a two week championship round... 5 weeks of playoffs altogether. This might aleviate some of the tiebreaker issues I'm trying to work around with the current playoff set up. December 22, 2008 11:12 AM
