Playoffs, Round 2 (Week 15)

Round two of the playoffs is finished. In a bit of a shocker, the Bengals knocked off the Redskins for only their 2nd win of the season knocking Mark Wood out of championship contention. The 20-13 Bengals victory coupled with the 49-26 pounding the Raiders took from the Patriots propelled Jeff Gravatt into the championship round against 5687. 5687 squeaked into the championship on the strength of the officials ripping the game right out of the Ravens hands, and handing it to the Steelers.

You tell me where there was INDISPUTABLE evidence?!?

Actually if that game would have ended in a 9-6 Ravens win, 5687 would have made it in anyway, as The Jets held on to a 31-27 win over the Bills with a last minute fumble recovery for a TD. As it stands 5687 won 4-(-4) over andy73.

With the weeks games, the two week championship round sets up like this:
#5 Jeff Gravatt vs. #2 5687

And round 1 of the consolation bracket looks like this with the winners moving on to battle for 3rd and 4th places while the losers are out and only 3rd place will win money:
#6 Stephanie vs #1 Mark Wood
#3 andy73 vs. #4 kerri78, keeping it in the family

Good luck to you all on your picks for week 16.

I think the winnings breakdown should be 50/30/20. September 22, 2008 9:21 PM

something to consider for next year: person picks 2 of their 3 teams. the last team is randomly generated by the computer. September 22, 2008 9:32 PM

What do you guys think about keeping the rules the same as far as picking your three teams and each week picking one, but instead of JUST picking a team, you get scheduled against an opponent who is also in the game. The person whose team wins by the most(or loses by the least) gets the victory? September 25, 2008 12:05 PM

I might remove the BYE week and start the playoffs a week early. This would set up a two week opening round, a one week 2nd round, and a two week championship round... 5 weeks of playoffs altogether. This might aleviate some of the tiebreaker issues I'm trying to work around with the current playoff set up. December 22, 2008 11:12 AM
